Violence is a trait of many NFL players. Let’s face it, football is a violent sport and it encourages violent behavior. Unfortunately, what football does not do is teach players how to behave non-violently to problems off the field, particularly when it comes to relationship problems.

This violent behavior begins when boys start playing football as children. The boys are taught to behave tough and aggressive by their coaches, teammates, and even their parents. Boys are taught to use their body and strength to tackle competing players. Making a good “hit” is encouraged. This positively reinforces boys to behave aggressively. The boys are taught to be strong, to be unafraid, and to be a man. The name of the game is to be tough, dominant and show no weaknesses.

Unfortunately, the boys playing football are not taught that this behavior is acceptable only on the field. As boys who play football reach adolescence and adulthood, they have learned how to use aggressive and dominant behavior to win. It is this behavior that can lead to domestic violence against women.

Football never teaches players how to commutate with a woman. Is this the fault of football coaches or should parents take responsibility? The correct answer is that both should take responsibility. If you are going to reward a child for behaving violently while playing football, you must teach that child how to control their behavior when not playing football. I believe that from childhood all the way through the NFL, football players must be taught how to control aggressive and violent behavior. They need to be taught that violence off the field is unacceptable, especially towards women.

The divorce rate among NFL players is very high. Players bring the violence and aggressive energy they have on the field home. After practice or a game, a player’s adrenaline is flowing and they may have a lot of extra energy. If the player was in a big game that his team lost, this can increase the likelihood of violence at home. When you take the environment of football where problems between players are sometimes solved in scuffles and pushing each other around, this behavior becomes second nature to players. In football, if somebody gets in your face, you push them away. However, there is a huge difference between pushing a strong 275 lb player out of your face and pushing a 130 lb woman out of your face. What seems like nothing between players can be deadly when used toward a woman, and much of the time, it is done as a reflex from years of being physical with other players. That is why it is so important that from childhood on, football players are taught how to control their behavior off the field.

The NFL does have programs to teach players how to behave off the field. The problem is that by the time a player reaches the NFL, it is almost too late to teach behavior control. By this time the player has spent more than have of his life being taught to be physical and aggressive. This behavior is now so deeply embedded in the player’s mind that it is very difficult to change. That is why it is so important that football coaches and parents teach these young boys how to behave off the field and to be gentle with women.

If you are a parent reading this article, please talk to your son about violence and that violent behavior towards other people, especially women is wrong. Yes, physical and aggressive behavior is ok on the football field with other players, but that is the only place it is acceptable. Off the field, players must be taught to control their aggressive behavior and use their mind to solve problems, not their body.

Life Insurance for children looks like a terrible idea. Life Insurance for a child? Children do not earn an income and isn’t insurance meant to cover a financial loss?

Insurance is meant to cover a financial loss. So it is critically important that parents buy a life policy on themselves to protect their family. After the parents buy a policy on themselves I think there is reason to consider a Child Life policy.

So why would anyone buy life insurance for children? There are a few good reasons. And I will start with the financial reasons.

I would argue that the death of a child could cause financially difficulty. Can you imagine your child dying? It is a terrible thought and it brings tears to my eyes. The death of a child could be paralyzing and you would need time off. Most employers would certainly give a week or two of paid leave. But how long can that generosity last? What if you are not ready to go back to work for months – or years? Would your employer be that generous? For this reason alone I think a small policy on a child is not a bad idea to consider. The money would allow you to take time off work and heal.

A second financial reason is your other children (assuming you have others … if not skip ahead to the next paragraph). Would they need you more if they lost a sibling? Probably. Yet another reason you would take time off work. Beyond that, what if your children need counseling? That’s not free.

The most obvious financial reason to buy insurance on your kids is the cost of a funeral. The last thing you want to worry about is bills for a funeral if a child dies.

You might be thinking that none of the above applies to you. That’s fine. Before you go I would ask you to consider another reason When your child grows into adulthood and is looking for insurance coverage there is a chance that it will not be available due to their, health, lifestyle, or occupation. A good children’s life insurance policy will have a guaranteed insurability built in that allows them to buy more coverage without any questions about health, lifestyle or occupation.

If you are considering buying a policy for your child – please remember to review your own coverage first. There are plenty of good policies available in Canada for children. Make sure you look for the guaranteed insurability I mentioned above.

More often than not, the heartburn you are experiencing is usually not starving for oxygen, but your esophagus is consumed with acids and other things that can trigger it. They say the best cure is one that can be relieved naturally. So, natural heartburn cures can range from relieving it, or taking the necessary precautions to avoid it altogether.

Restrain yourself from consuming fats and alcohol. Alcohol triggers heartburn, as does foods that contain a lot of fat. These two things can weaken the muscles that open and close your stomach.

Lose some weight. Pressure from excess weight can push stomach acid where you know you don’t want it to go.

Sit up straight after eating meals. Stomach acid has a way of creeping into your esophagus and attacking sensitive nerve endings there, causing irritation to your throat, when you are lying down within hours of eating a meal.

Eating before going to bed is never a good idea for you or your body. Yet, if you cannot resist it, prop the head of your bed up about six inches with a couple of extra pillows. Gravity will help prevent your stomach acid from working its way into your esophagus; later irritating it and making you have terrible heartburn, and may wake you up while you’re sleeping.

Refrain from wearing skin-tight clothing materials and cinched belts, as they can push acids from the stomach into your esophagus. Doctors prohibit the use of tight-fitting outfits with people in adulthood, due to the fact that it is another heartburn trigger.

Several other cures are out there for heartburn, and there are other heartburn cures that you can find from your doctor. These common steps can help treat your heartburn and put you in the right steps to making sure you will never have it again.
